Police are investigating a ram raid on a Hamilton Harbour supermarket early this morning.
Police say that at around 1.20am, a stolen beige Volkswagen Tiguan was seen being reversed into the doors of the Kingsford Smith Drive shop.
“Once the vehicle smashed through, three people were seen entering the store,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
“Drawers containing cigarettes were loaded into the vehicle. The three people had their faces covered and were wearing gloves. The SUV was seen driving down Hercules Street towards the Gateway Bridge.”
Police say that just before 4am, the vehicle was located submerged at the Nudgee Waterhole.
Anyone with vision or further information about the incident is urged to contact police.
