Police hunt for 75-year-old’s attackers

Detectives are appealing for information from the public after a 75-year-old man was attacked in his Sheldon home on Christmas Eve.

Bayside Criminal Investigation Branch detectives say their investigations indicate that between 5.45am and 6.45am on Thursday, December 24, two men forced their way into the Mount Cotton Road property.

“Once inside, both men threatened and restrained the 75-year-old resident before stealing cash and personal property,” detectives said.

“The pair then left the property, stealing the victim’s white BMW and driving away in it.”

The vehicle was later located abandoned in Tandara Street, Rochedale South.

Detectives are appealing to anyone who was driving along Mt Gravatt Capalaba Road Capalaba, Mount Cotton Road Capalaba, Avalon Road Sheldon or Priestdale Road Rochedale South between 5.45am and 6.45am on Christmas Eve who may have dashcam footage to contact police.

Investigators believe the man pictured may be able to assist in relation to this incident.
