A 51-year-old man will appear in court today charged over the alleged assault and intimidation of a teenage boy at a football game in Sydney’s south.
Officers from St George Police Area Command say they were called after reports a 13-year-old boy had been assaulted by a man while in the crowd at a football game at an oval at Carss Park in July.
Police will allege the boy was filming in the crowd after a fight occurred between players on the field, when a man lunged at him and assaulted him.
The boy suffered scratches to his neck, chest and back in the assault.
Following inquiries, a man, 51, was arrested at a home in Rockdale just before 11pm the same day.
He was taken to Kogarah Police Station and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm.
The Rockdale man was granted conditional bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court today.
