A 35-year-old Frenchville man has been charged with murder in relation to the death of a woman at Allenstown yesterday.
Police were called to a West Street residence at approximately 3.50pm on Sunday, where the body of a woman in her 70s was located.
“A crime scene was established and Operation Uniform Acca launched investigating the circumstances surrounding her death,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
“A 35-year-old Frenchville man was subsequently taken into custody and charged with one count of murder (domestic violence offence).
“It will be alleged the man and woman were known to each other.”
The man is expected to appear before Rockhampton Magistrates Court today.
