Two men and a woman have been charged after police intercepted a vehicle yesterday registered to a man connected to the tragic death of Police Dog Rambo on the weekend.
“Officers patrolling the Dundathu area observed the Holden Commodore utility registered to Alan Lace when the vehicle accelerated away and evaded police. The ute was located abandoned a short time later on Prawle Road,” Queensland Police said in a statement this afternoon.
“Police then located a man and a woman nearby and arrested the pair, with officers allegedly locating a homemade loaded firearm on the male.”
With the assistance of Polair, police located a third person, a 29-year-old man from Urangan.
The two men, aged 26 and 29, were due to appear in the Maryborough Magistrates Court today charged with a range of offences including dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlawful possession of weapons category D/H/R weapon – short firearm in public, driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence disqualified by Court Order, possess dangerous drugs and evasion offence type 1 vehicle related offence.
A woman was also charged with trespassing and obstructing police.
“Police did not locate Alan Lace at the scene, with investigations continuing to find the 53-year-old, who is considered dangerous and may be armed,” Queensland Police said.
“Lace may still be in the Maryborough area, however also has links to Childers.”
He is described as Caucasian in appearance, around 180cm tall with a bald head and brown eyes.
Anyone who knows of Lace’s whereabouts is asked to call police immediately on Triple Zero (000). Do not approach him.
