Once-in-a-lifetime scooter and wheelchair auction online now

It is with mixed emotions that 71-year-old Wagga Wagga businessman, Gordon Moore, announces his retirement – but he’s signing off in the same spirit of how he ran his business, by giving back to the community.

Having a scooter hire business that attends major Agricultural Field Days, Royal Shows and Expos for the sole purpose of providing mobility hire options for older and less mobile visitors to the event, Gordon says COVID-19 has nullified any future planning.

“Even if Seniors expos and events were to resume tomorrow, it would take many years for our core clientele of the over 70’s age group to confidently attend events in the previous volumes,” said Gordon.

“Therefore, we have elected to completely withdraw from the industry and sell the scooters and wheelchairs via an online auction that is now open for bidding until February 28.”

This could be an opportunity for Seniors to grab a scooter or wheelchair at a bargain price.

Up for bidding are 132 mobility scooters, 60 wheelchairs, 80 infant strollers, all plant and equipment including three trucks, five trailers, three caravans, a Landcruiser dual-cab ute, forklift, gazebos, workshop equipment and shelving.

Gordon says delivery of scooters and wheelchairs can be arranged Australia-wide.

“Louise and I are immensely proud to have had the opportunity to provide mobility services at events across four states, including two Royal Shows and many other varied events,” said Gordon.

“We have enjoyed serving the public, enabling people to attend, who would otherwise not have been able to attend without the provision of our service,” he said.

“Over the years, we have received many letters and emails from clients expressing their appreciation of our service. This has been personally rewarding.

“We will miss the annual catch-up with a wonderful appreciative clientele. Louise and I would like to thank our clients, the administrations of the various events we serviced, their staff, their committee and volunteers for their friendship and assistance over the years”.
