An increasing number of Seniors are making the switch to electric bicycle power, as a way to beat escalating petrol prices.

E-bike wholesaler, RILU Trading Pty Ltd is reporting a national peak in interest for electric bikes from all its retailers around Australia.

“Seniors are feeling such a sting at the petrol bowsers that it has led to a rise in e-bike inquiries,” says Managing Director, Kurt Rihs.

Mr Rihs says a shipment of the new model, NOMAD folding e-bikes has arrived in Australia and they are becoming all the rage amongst the adventurous grey nomad population.

He says the NOMAD electric bike is ideal for the adventure seeker. The bike’s quick and easy folding frame allows it to be stored in a small area at home, or to be taken away in the car, the caravan, or the mobile home. Seniors can move around easily without burning a hole in their pockets.

Grey Nomad Phil Benson, caravanning Australia on a budget explains, “We nearly cancelled our road journey, because of the escalated petrol prices, but we decided we could manage to stay within our means if we park up in each town for a week or so and jump on the NOMADs to check out each area.”

The NOMAD makes exploring the city and both, made and unmade rail trails fun and comfortable, due to the 100mm travel, lockable front suspension fork and the 40mm of travel offered by the adjustable suspension seat post.

Designed with a very low step-over height of just 34cm, the NOMAD allows you to easily get on and off the bike. If you are between 1.5 – 1.9m+ tall, the NOMAD provides a ride that’s both comfortable and exhilarating.

It’s also easy to operate and has two ways of activating the 200W hub electric motor –  manually, with the thumb throttle up to 20Km/h; and automatically, by pedalling and selecting a pedal assistance level (PAS) 5  for up to 25km/h.

The integrated frame battery has 504Wh of Samsung lithium-ion cells. It can easily be unlocked and removed to charge with a silent, smart charger which reaches full capacity in 6-7 hours. Long-range exploring is also on the cards, as the battery provides riders with 60Km+ of motor-assisted range, while pedalling and 40Km+ of range while riding it as a sit-down scooter using the throttle.

With just the press of a button, bright front and rear LED lighting, featuring optical beam management will perfectly illuminate the path ahead without blinding oncoming riders.

Whether you are planning to travel, or just wanting to get around your local area. The NOMAD will not only save you money on petrol and parking, but also give you hours and hours of comfortable and leisurely travel.
