NSW Police are investigating the cause of a fatal two-vehicle crash in the Hunter region today.
Police say that at around 10am, emergency services were called to the Golden Highway at Wyoming Road, Cassilis – about 30km south west of Merriwa – following reports a Hyundai SUV travelling west and a Toyota Landcruiser travelling east had collided.
“NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the female driver and sole occupant of the Hyundai, but she died at the scene,” NSW Police said in a statement.
“The driver and sole occupant of the Landcruiser, a 63-year-old man, has been airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
“Officers attached to Hunter Valley Police District attended and established a crime scene, which will be forensically examined.”
