Woman, 78, dies after mobility scooter is hit by car

A 78-year-old Geelong West woman has died in a horrific collision between a car and the mobility scooter the woman was riding in Newtown this morning.

Police have been told the car collided with the woman’s scooter at the intersection of Pakington and Skene streets around 10am today.

The woman was taken to hospital where she later died. The male driver, a 50-year-old man from Newtown, of the car has been assisting police with their enquires.
