NSW Police are appealing for information after a 75-year-old woman was assaulted during a break-in at South Albury in the early hours of this morning.
Police say that at around 3.30am today, the woman was asleep in her Hume Street home when she was awoken by the sound of a window breaking.
“The woman was confronted by a man who placed a pillow and doona over her head,” Police said in a statement.
“When the woman got out of bed, she was pushed to the floor and left under a doona.
“A second man was heard in the home and the pair stole the woman’s car keys and fled in her vehicle – a white Toyota Camry with NSW registration plates CTN-43P.”
Police say the woman was not seriously injured as a result of the incident.
Anyone with information – including nearby businesses or homes with CCTV, or residents who witnessed anything suspicious – is urged to contact Albury Police on 6023 9299 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
