A 50-year-old woman has died after being pulled from water at a beach on the state’s south coast.
Police say that just before 4.30pm yesterday, emergency services were called to Congo Beach, south of Moruya, after reports a woman and boy were stuck in a rip.
“Police have been told a nearby surfer assisted the woman and boy back to shore, where they were pulled from the water by witnesses,” NSW Police said in a statement.
“Witnesses commenced CPR, but the woman died a short time later.
“She has since been formally identified as a 50-year-old woman from Sydney.
“The 10-year-old boy was assessed by paramedics and was uninjured.”
