A 74-year-old man has been charged over an alleged drink driving incident in the state’s south.
At around 9.50pm on Saturday 29 March, a NSW Police officer attached to Murray River Police District was driving along Conargo Road at Conargo when he spotted a ute being driven dangerously.
“A short time later, the vehicle stopped as directed by police. The driver – a 74-year-old man – was subject to a roadside breath test, which returned a positive result,” NSW Police said in a statement.
He was arrested and taken to Deniliquin Police Station where a secondary breath analysis returned a reading of 0.150.
Subsequent checks revealed he is a disqualified driver until 2028.
He was issued a Court Attendance Notice for drive with high range prescribed concentration of alcohol and drive motor vehicle during disqualification period.
He is due to appear before court in early April.
