Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested and charged two men over the stabbing of a 57-year-old man in Cheltenham.
“Police have been told a man was working as a painter on Jellicoe Street near Chesterville Road when he was approached by two unknown men about 11am,” Victoria Police said of the July 13 incident.
“A verbal altercation occurred when it is alleged the man received a stab wound to his back.”
A 29-year-old Frankston man has been charged with intentionally cause injury, assault with a weapon, affray and unlawful assault. He was remanded to appear at Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court today.
A 24-year-old Cheltenham man has been charged with affray and unlawful assault. He will appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court today.
The victim, a 57-year-old man has since been released from hospital.
“Investigators would like to thank the public and media for their assistance,” Victoria Police said.
