Kempsey Shire Council has announced the cancellation of this year’s Slim Dusty Festival, which had been scheduled to take place in September.
“The Slim Dusty Foundation has taken the difficult decision to cancel the Slim Dusty Festival in Kempsey,” Council said in a statement this evening.
Dr David Kirkpatrick from the Slim Dusty Foundation said, “We are again extremely disappointed that the festival has to be cancelled however as the Slim Dusty Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation, we are not in a position to move forward this year.”
“The Foundation will provide patrons and stakeholders with updates through media channels about any plans for the event in 2023,” he said.
