Police are investigating after a woman crashed a stolen vehicle at Gaven this morning, before allegedly threatening another driver at knifepoint.
Preliminary information indicates that around 9.30am, a woman was driving a stolen grey 2015 BMW 318i sedan eastbound along Smith Street when it collided with a tree and concrete barrier, causing the car to flip onto its roof.
“The female driver exited the vehicle before jumping the concrete barrier,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
“A 55-year-old Ashmore man driving a utility westbound along Smith Street pulled over to render assistance when the woman entered his vehicle, produced a knife from her duffle bag and instructed the man to drive.
“The man drove a short distance to the intersection of Smith Street and Pacific Pines Boulevard where the woman exited the vehicle.”
The man was not injured during the incident.
“Police attended and extensively patrolled the area but were unable to locate the woman,” Queensland Police said.
She is described as being in her mid-twenties, with long black hair and was wearing all grey and carrying a duffle bag at the time of the incident.
The BMW was stolen around 3.15pm on July 12 from a residence on Deloraine Drive at Springwood.
