An elderly man has died after being hit by a car in the state’s Riverina last week.
Around 6pm on Thursday June 17, police were called to Bourke Street, Tolland, after reports a Mitsubishi Triton had hit a pedestrian.
An 83-year-old man suffered a fractured pelvis and facial injuries and was taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital. He was later transferred to St George Hospital where he died just after 5pm yesterday.
The driver of the ute, a 35-year-old man, was not injured and was taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital for mandatory testing. Two passengers, men aged 23 and 19, also escaped injury.
Police investigations into the crash are continuing.
