Man, 66, threatened with knife in Bundaberg car theft

Queensland Police are investigating a stolen vehicle incident in Bundaberg this morning in which a 66-year-old man was threatened with a knife.

Emergency services were called to the Industrial Avenue address in Svensson Heights just after 1.30am to reports three people had broken into a property, stolen a vehicle, and set another alight.

“Upon arrival, a 66-year-old North Bundaberg man was located with non-life-threatening injuries and did not require hospitalisation,” Police said in a statement.

“It is understood the trio threatened the man with a knife before stealing his Toyota Prado, and setting a nearby utility on fire.

“The fire then spread to four neighbouring vehicles before emergency services contained the blaze. No one was inside the vehicles at the time.”

The white Toyota Prado was later located on fire on Goodwood Rd at Kinkuna.

Police are appealing for anyone with information or relevant vision to come forward.
