A man’s body has been found on a Lismore street during the area’s ongoing flood disaster.
“NSW Police can confirm this is the third death associated with the flood crisis in northeast NSW,” Police said in a statement this afternoon.
“About 10.55am today, officers attached to Richmond Police District were called to the corner of Uralba and Dawson Streets, Lismore, after reports a man was seen floating in flood waters.
“Upon arrival, the body of a man was located; he is yet to be formally identified.”
A crime scene has been established, which is currently being processed by specialist forensic officers, NSW Police said.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
