Queensland Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash that that occurred on the D’Aguilar Highway at Stony Creek this morning.
Initial investigations indicate a Landcruiser and Triton collided head on around 10.20am after the Triton swerved to avoid a traffic hazard, Police said in a statement this afternoon.
“The 51-year-old male driver of the Landcruiser from Glamorgan Vale suffered significant injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
“A 49-year-old female passenger from the Landcruiser was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
“A 52-year-old female driver of the Triton from Kidman Creek was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition.
“A 58-year-old male passenger from the Triton was transported to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition,” Queensland Police said.
A teenage boy who was a passenger in the Landcruiser was also transported to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have dashcam vision to come forward.
