An 83-year-old man was assaulted and his car stolen from his Marsden home yesterday.
Queensland Police say that just after 2.30pm on Wednesday, a man entered the elderly man’s Kim Street residence through a back door.
Once inside the home, the intruder located a set of keys and attempted to get into a vehicle parked in the garage when he was confronted by the 83-year-old resident.
An altercation has taken place where police say the 83-year-old man was punched and pushed into a work bench.
The intruder then stole the man’s car, a silver Nissan Skyline bearing Queensland registration UGL 111, and was last seen driving away from the residence along Kim Street in Marsden, Logan.
Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of the car, or who live in the area and may have CCTV footage, to contact police.
The 83-year-old man has been treated for minor injuries.
