12 NSW COVID deaths – 8 in south west Sydney

NSW has recorded 1,431 new COVID-19 cases and 12 deaths overnight – including eight residents from Sydney’s south western suburbs.

Included in today’s death figures were an unvaccinated woman in her 30s, a man in his 70s from south eastern Sydney who died at St George Hospital after contracting the virus at a Bexley aged care facility; three women and two men in their 70s from south west Sydney; a woman and a man in their 80s from south west Sydney; a man in his 70s from Sydney’s north who died at Hornsby Hospital; a woman in her 60s from south west Sydney; and a man in his 90s from the Blue Mountains who died at Hawkesbury Living Aged Care facility.

“We’re very sad to announce the deaths of those 12 people and on behalf of NSW Health, I offer my sincere condolences to their families,” a health spokeswoman said.
