Search on for Adelaide toy makers

A group of volunteer Port Adelaide toy makers are on the lookout for new pairs of hands to help out with their annual Christmas toy appeal.

Last Friday, the group’s ‘Toymendous’ (pictured below) saw thousands of lovingly handmade toys passed on to local charities to help ensure that no child goes without this Christmas.

Since 1998, the Gilles Plains based volunteer group has met each week to craft toys, which they give away at the end of the year.

They are supported by St Pauls College, the City of Port Adelaide Enfield Council, and countless donations of timber, paint, glue, screws and nails from local businesses who all pitch in to help create something special for young people in the community.

The dedicated group are always on the lookout for new volunteers who can help them keep up with the demand for toys.

It might even be a great opportunity to learn a new skill as they will teach you everything you need to know.
