Devonport to get its old time dance shoes on

With Seniors Week is just around the corner, Devonport City Council has announced that this year’s events program will include an Old Time Dance.

The event will be held on Friday 20th October from 8pm -11pm.

Seniors Week provides an opportunity to recognise and show appreciation for local seniors, and a program of events and activities has been tailored to ensure that a week of fun is had, the Council said in a statement.

The Old Time Dance, to be held at the Spreyton-Quoiba Memorial Hall at Maidstone Park, Spreyton, will feature live entertainment by the talented Dejavu.

Whether you’re an experienced dancer or just looking to have a great time, everyone is welcome to join in the festivities. To make the evening even more enjoyable, light refreshments will be provided on-site.

“This event provides a fantastic opportunity to celebrate Seniors Week in style, in what is sure to be an unforgettable night of music, dancing, and fun. It’s the perfect opportunity to socialise, meet new friends, and relish the joy of dancing,” said Mayor, Alison Jarman.

“Devonport City Council are proud to be involved in events such as this that celebrate the valuable contributions of seniors to our community, and provides an opportunity for social connection, participation, and most of all fun.”

Bookings for this event are essential and can be made by contacting Council on 6424 0511 by 9th October.
