Townsville Police Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating after a 70-year-old woman died in a traffic crash at Inkerman yesterday afternoon.
Police say that at around 1.20pm on Tuesday, two cars collided on the Bruce Highway near Wallace Road, approximately 10km south of Home Hill.
“The 70-year-old woman from Gumlu, driving the Hyundai I30, was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Queensland Police said.
“The 61-year-old Ayr woman driving the Honda HR-V was injured and transported to Townsville University Hospital by QGAir.”
Road diversions are in place while the Bruce Highway remains closed.
Townsville Forensic Crash Unit officers are urging anyone who witnesses the crash or has dashcam footage and did not provide their details to Police at the scene, to contact Police.
