Seniors, carers and their families are being invited to discover the services, activities and opportunities available across the region at the City of Rockingham’s Seniors and Carers Expo on Friday 9 October.
One of the region’s largest information and community connection events for seniors and carers, the free Expo will bring together more than 120 exhibitors at the Mike Barnett Sports Complex from 10am to 2pm.
Visitors will have the opportunity to connect directly with service providers, community groups and support organisations, while gathering information on health, wellbeing, aged care, volunteering, recreation, community participation and local services.
Mayor, Lorna Buchan said the Expo reflected the City’s commitment to creating an age-friendly community where seniors and carers are informed, supported and connected.
“Our seniors and carers make an enormous contribution to the Rockingham community through their knowledge, experience, care and ongoing involvement in community life,” Mayor Buchan said.
“The Seniors and Carers Expo is a wonderful opportunity for people to access information, discover new services and activities, and build valuable social connections, all in one convenient location.
“Whether you’re looking for support services, ways to stay active, opportunities to volunteer or simply want to learn more about what’s available in our community, the Expo provides something for everyone.”
In addition to exhibitor displays, visitors can enjoy live entertainment, stage presentations, free activities and refreshments throughout the day. Grandchildren, family members and friends are encouraged to attend.
The Expo is inclusive and accessible, with mobility aids available on site and a free shuttle service operating from Dowling Street parking.
