Truck driver, 69, charged over fatal crash

A truck driver has been charged after a woman died in a two-vehicle crash on the Central Coast yesterday.

NSW Police say emergency services were called to Wisemans Ferry Road, Mangrove Mountain, at around 3.20pm on Friday, following reports a truck and car had collided.

“A 57-year-old woman driving a Landcruiser died at the scene. The driver of a prime mover – a 69-year-old man – was not injured and was taken to hospital for mandatory testing,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“A crime scene was established as specialist officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit (CIU) commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

“Following inquiries, the driver of the truck was arrested and charged with dangerous driving occasioning death – drive manner dangerous, and negligent driving (occasioning death).

He was given conditional bail to appear before Gosford Local Court on February 7th.
