89-year-old woman struck by car

WA Police are investigating the cause of a serious crash that saw an 89-year-old woman hit by a station wagon in Hilton on Sunday.

Police say that at about 4.35pm, the elderly woman using the pedestrian crossing on South Street near Carrington Street, was struck by a white Renault Koleos station wagon that was travelling west along South Street.

The driver of the Renault, a 57-year-old man, immediately stopped and assisted the woman.

The 89-year-old woman received serious injuries and was conveyed by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital.
