Making it easier with Inclusive Living

Changes to the Support at Home Programme – the new Assistive Technology and Home Modification (AT-HM) Scheme is great news for Seniors who want to live safely, independently, and comfortably in their own homes.

Inclusive Living offers a range of “Height Adjustable Lifting Systems / Assistive Technology that help create accessible, functional, usable, and safe environments.”

Our range includes adjustable lifting systems, which are used in kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, laundries, and many other applications.

Our range also includes adjustable lift systems that can be installed in new or existing applications and/or relocated.

Our lift systems include applications for wall cabinets, worktops, island benches, appliance lifts, electric wardrobe lifts, and washbasin brackets.

These practical solutions help increase accessibility, improve the usability of space, and reduce the need for steps and ladders, thereby lowering the risk of injury. Items can be accessed in a standing or seated position at the touch of a button.

How? By reducing barriers and making it easier, safer, and more convenient for people of all ages, with varying abilities or different equipment requirements, to perform everyday tasks and activities

SO WHAT ARE THE CHANGES

The Australian Government is launching a new Assistive Technology and Home Modifications (AT-HM) Scheme on November 1, 2025, as part of the new Support at Home Program. This scheme replaces the previous system for these supports and provides funding for products like wheelchairs or home modifications based on assessed needs, rather than requiring participants to set aside funds from their personal budget. This new approach ensures that AT-HM funding is separate from regular support budgets, allowing for upfront access to these supports.

Key features of the AT-HM scheme

Funding: Provides dedicated funding for assistive technology and home modifications through a new standalone scheme.

Access: Participants get access to these supports based on their aged care assessment, and funding is included in their support plan.

Provider responsibility: A single Support at Home service provider will be responsible for arranging and sourcing the required AT-HM supports.

Funding tiers: Funding is provided in tiers (Low, Medium, High) and may exceed these limits if medically required.
