A man has been charged after allegedly stealing $10,000 worth of cowboy hats from a Scone store.
Police say that at about 5.30am this morning, the man allegedly broke into a business in Kelly Street, Scone and made off with the huge haul of hats in a rubbish wheelie bin.
The hats reportedly sell for an estimated $250-$300 each.
Around 1pm this afternoon, a 32-year-old man was arrested by officers attached to the Hunter Valley Police District at a home at Taminda in Tamworth.
He was taken to Tamworth Police Station, where he was charged with break/enter dwelling and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.
He was refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court tomorrow.
