A 52-year-old woman will face court today charged following the fatal shooting of a man in the state’s Southern Region overnight.
Emergency services were called to a home on Murrumbateman Road in Murrumbateman, near Canberra, at around 10pm last night, following reports a man had been shot.
“On arrival, officers from The Hume Police District found a 52-year-old man suffering a fatal gunshot wound,” NSW Police said in a statement.
“A crime scene was established, which was examined by specialist forensic police. Detectives commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.”
A 52-year-old woman – who is known to the man – was arrested at the scene and taken to Yass Police Station.
Following inquiries, the woman was charged with murder. She was refused bail to appear at Goulburn Local Court today.
