Woman airlifted from freak farm accident

A 62-year-old woman has been airlifted to hospital after a freak accident on a farm near Armidale.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to the property at Jeogla, east of Armidale, around 4pm yesterday after reports that a woman had been struck in the head by a steel gate after it was kicked by a cow.

“NSW Ambulance Paramedics and the Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team treated and stabilised a 62-year-old female for head injuries and the lady was airlifted to Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment,” the Westpac Helicopter service said in a statement.
