Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious crash near Batemans Bay yesterday that saw a 74-year-old woman airlifted to hospital.
Emergency services were called to the Princes Highway at Batemans Bay about 2pm on Monday, following reports of the three-vehicle crash.
“Police have been told a black BMW was travelling southbound on the Princes Highway, near the intersection of Mills Fishing Road, when it collided with a white Mercedes travelling northbound. The BMW then collided with a grey Nissan that was also travelling northbound,” NSW Police said in a statement today.
“Officers from South Coast Police District attended and commenced inquiries. The investigation has since been handed over to specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit.”
Police say the Nissan driver, a 74-year-old woman, was trapped for a short period of time before being airlifted to Canberra in a stable condition. The BMW driver, a 21-year-old man, was taken to Moruya Hospital for mandatory testing and sustained lacerations to his head. He has since been released from hospital.
The Mercedes driver, a 46-year-old woman, did not sustain any injuries.
As investigations continue, police are appealing for anyone with information or dash cam footage to come forward.
