Two people – an 81-year-old man and 75-year-old woman – have died in a house fire in Sydney’s south west today.
Police say that at around 6.45am, emergency services were called to Lily Road, Wetherill Park where they found a home well-alight.
“Emergency crews managed to remove two people from the house, an 81-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman, however, they could not be revived,” NSW Police said in a statement.
“Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command attended and have established a crime scene, which will be forensically examined by NSW Police and Fire and Rescue NSW investigators.”
As inquiries continue, police would like to speak with anyone who maybe have been in the area or who has information that can assist.
