Westpac Rescue Helicopter crews have had a busy 24 hours rescuing patients – and a road ambulance crew – as the Northern Rivers region road network is overcome by floodwaters.
Crews have completed four air retrievals, including the rescue of a 77-year-old woman from Raleigh, who was transported to Coffs Harbour Hospital suffering a medical condition.
A 60-year-old Kyogle woman was airlifted to Lismore Base Hospital suffering a medical condition, where she remains in a stable condition.
A 55-year-old Casino man was airlifted to Lismore Base Hospital, while a 69-year-old Iluka woman was taken to Lismore Base Hospital.
“NSWA Paramedics were also transported from Maclean to Iluka due to flooding in the area making it inaccessible to drive,” Westpac Rescue said in a statement.
