Two die in crashes yesterday

A 66-year-old woman has died following a crash involving two cars in Griffin last night.

Police say that at around 6pm, two cars were travelling along Wagner Road when they have collided head-on.

“The driver of one vehicle, a 66-year-old Cashmere woman was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Queensland Police said in a statement.

“The driver of the second vehicle, a 47-year-old Griffin woman was extricated from the car and transported to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a critical condition.”

Police are appealing for anyone that may have witnessed or has dashcam footage of this crash or the moments leading up to it to come forward.

In another collision yesterday, a man has died following a single vehicle crash in Cape Cleveland.

“At about 3pm, a vehicle travelling southbound along Goodess Road has lost control and left the roadway, colliding with a tree,” QPS said.

“Sadly, a man in his 60s was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

Police are appealing for anyone that may have dashcam footage of a gold Holden Commodore driving along Goodess Road around 3pm to contact police.
