Time to nominate an outstanding Murray Shire volunteer

Submissions for the Shire of Murray’s 2024 Volunteer Awards are now open.

Shire President, David Bolt said the awards were an opportunity to acknowledge the hundreds of Murray residents who give up their time to volunteer.

“We are grateful to have hundreds of volunteers in Murray who dedicate their time and services to support and connect our community,” he said.

“It is important that we take the opportunity to thank them for their efforts, and I look forward to celebrating their achievements at the Volunteer VIP Function on May 21.

“I encourage you to nominate those who deserve recognition as community volunteers, particularly outstanding young people and women who are stepping up as role models and leading the way for future generations.”

The awards, supported by Lotterywest and Volunteering WA, recognise the valuable contribution of longstanding volunteers within community organisations.

The Shire of Murray will award a Certificate of Appreciation to volunteers who have reached a five, 10 or 20-year milestone.

Submissions are also encouraged for Outstanding Contributions by a Volunteer.

Certificates of Appreciation will be presented at the 2024 Volunteer VIP Function as part of National Volunteer Week in May at the Edenvale Heritage Precinct in Pinjarra.

“Thank you to Lotterywest for your ongoing support,” said President Bolt.
