NSW Police have seized cigarettes worth almost $130,000 during a vehicle stop near Broken Hill.
Officers attached to the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were patrolling the Barrier Highway about 10am on Friday, when they stopped the driver of a van for a random breath test.
Police will allege in court that the van was laden with 14,400 cigarettes and 4.2kg of tobacco, which has a combined estimated value of almost $130,000.
The driver, a 54-year-old South Australian man, was arrested and taken to Broken Hill Police Station.
The man has now been charged with two counts of goods in custody suspected of being unlawfully obtained.
He was issued a future court attendance notice to appear before Broken Hill Local Court on July 9th.
