Detectives from Manningham Crime Investigation Unit have charged three teenagers following a series of burglaries in Doncaster East, Templestowe and Parkdale over the weekend.
Officers were conducting patrols after receiving reports of a man acting suspiciously on Main Rise, Doncaster East about midday on Saturday.
“Police will allege they observed an outstanding stolen vehicle, a white Mercedes hatch, parked in the driveway of a home on Five Crown Grove,” Victoria Police said in a statement.
“The vehicle was monitored by police on the ground and with the assistance of the airwing.”
A 19-year-old Pakenham man was arrested nearby.
Police searched the vehicle and located a number of wallets, purses, an apple watch, air pods, cash and a number of keys to vehicles that were allegedly stolen during a number of burglaries.
The 19-year-old has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, burglary and handle stolen goods in relation to the burglaries in Parkdale and Doncaster East. He has been remanded to appear at Ringwood Magistrates’ Court today.
Two other teens, aged 17 and 18, both from Pakenham, were arrested as they attempted the flee the Main Rise property.
The 17-year-old was bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
The 18-year-old was bailed to appear at Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on 14 July.
Detectives are continuing to investigate a number of other burglaries that occurred in Sarah Crescent, Templestowe and Olron Rise, Doncaster East to establish if the incidents are linked.
