Queensland Police have charged a 17-year-old driver following a crash in Beenleigh last night, that has left a 51-year-old man with serious leg injuries.
In a statement, Police said that at around 8.30pm, officers were called to reports a Holden Commodore had struck two parked vehicles and a pedestrian on James Street.
The driver of the Holden, a 17-year-old boy, is alleged to have then fled the scene on foot.
He was located a short distance away by members of the public.
The pedestrian, a 51-year-old Rathdowney man, sustained serious leg injuries and was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
Police have since charged a 17-year-old Yarrabilba boy with one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm.
He is due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday, 29 September.
