Castle Hill Showground has been opened as an Emergency Animal Evacuation Centre for livestock and domestic animal owners concerned about the current flood risk in the region.
Greater Sydney Local Land Services is working to provide support with officers available on site from this afternoon, the Department of Primary Industries (DPI) said in a statement today.
Care of animals including adequate food and water supply, as well as full supervision remains the owner’s responsibility during their stay, the Department said.
Owners are also asked to bring relevant identification for their animals.
