Road spikes stop stolen car at Kurralta Park

Police have used road spikes to stop a car stolen from a 57-year-old woman as she got petrol at Old Noarlunga this morning.

“Just after 12am, police were called to a service station on Eric Road after reports a Ford sedan had been stolen,” South Australia Police said in a statement.

The victim, a 57-year-old woman, had allegedly offered a lift to another woman at Moana Beach. However, when she got out of her car to pay for petrol at Old Noarlunga the woman had stolen her vehicle and driven off, Police said.

“As police were responding to the incident patrols spotted the Ford travelling at speed north on Southern Expressway.”

“PolAir was called in to assist and tracked the car as it travelled to South Road. The car was successfully spiked on South Road near Anzac Highway before it came to a stop soon after on Tennyson Street, Kurralta Park.”

The driver a 23-year-old Elizabeth Downs woman was arrested and charged with theft of motor vehicle, illegal use and resist arrest. She was bailed to appear at the Christies beach Magistrates Court on 10 February.
