Kingston plant giveaway is back for 2024

City of Kingston Council will be giving away plants to residents next month as part of its plan to increase tree cover and vegetation across the city.

Each autumn, the Council offers a free plant giveaway, allowing residents to collect up to five free tube stock native plants per household.

The plant giveaway program is open to all Kingston residents. You do not need to register – just attend one of the events and bring along your proof of address – a drivers licence, rates notice, or utility bill with your address printed on it.

“We will be giving away approximately 1,000 plants at each event on a first in, best dressed basis,” Council said in a statement.

“You can select from a range of native trees, shrubs, grasses, and groundcovers.”

2024 Giveaway Events:

  • The Grange Reserve, Clayton South on Saturday 4 May, 9 am – 12 noon
  • Carrum Indigenous Nursery on Friday 10 May, 9 am – 12 noon
