Road spikes deflate stolen ute joyride

Two men have been charged following an alleged dangerous driving incident involving a stolen utility through Brisbane’s south yesterday.

Around 2.15pm police were called after the two men forced their way into a residence in Bowhill Road, Willawong by allegedly smashing a window.

The pair were disturbed by members of the public and fled in the white Nissan Navara ute as officers arrived.

PolAir monitored the ute as it travelled through Forest Lake, speeding, driving dangerously and damaging civilian and police vehicles.

A tyre deflation device was successfully deployed with the ute stopping in Roy Lane at Camira where the driver and passenger were arrested.

A 37-year-old Acacia Ridge man has been charged with more than 20 offences including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, burglary, enter with intent, evasion, stealing and driving without a licence. He was due to appear in the Richlands Magistrates Court today.

An 18-year-old Ellen Grove man has been charged with more than 10 offences including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, burglary, enter with intent and wilful damage. He was due to appear in the Richlands Magistrates Court today.
