Queensland Police launch Christmas appeal

For the past three years, the Queensland Police Service (QPS) has launched a Christmas Foodbank Drive with the aim to collect food for families throughout the state experiencing hardship at Christmas time.

In previous years, police stations across Queensland acted as collection points for the donation of non-perishable and much needed food items from members of the public.

In 2019, with assistance from the QPS, Foodbank was able to raise a massive 8.667 tonnes of food for hungry Queenslanders.

As we all know, this year is looking very different and unfortunately police stations are unable to physically take your donations.

But…where there’s a will, there’s a way.

This year, QPS has again partnered with Foodbank, who have officially launched their virtualhunger drive.

If you wish to offer your support as the demand for food relief this year continues to exceed supply, follow Police Puppies Fonzie and Fern’s instructions below.

“The QPS is proud to be involved in assisting Queenslanders throughout the state and help make this a happier holiday season for those in need,” it said in a statement.
