Police hunt for indecent assault offender

Queensland detectives are appealing for public assistance to identify a man captured in CCTV footage in Collingwood Park as they investigate the indecent assault of a woman yesterday morning.

Police say that at 4.20am on Wednesday, the woman was walking along Collingwood Drive when a man passed her as he walked in the opposite direction.

“As the man passed her, he turned around and indecently grabbed her.”

“When the woman challenged him for his actions, he proceeded to verbally abuse her before he walked away.

“The woman called for a man known to her to collect her and when they spotted the offender further along Collingwood Drive, they confronted him.

“The offender then punched the man approximately half a dozen times, causing cuts and bruising, before he left in an unknown direction,” Queensland Police said in a statement.

As depicted in the vision, he is described as Caucasian, 30-40 years old, wearing a red cap, a flannelette jacket, jeans and thongs.

Police say there were a number of workers and cars moving in the area at the time of the incidents and are hopeful witnesses will come forward.
