Police hunt for Helensvale predator

Queensland Police are appealing to the public for assistance as part of the investigation into five incidents of wilful exposure and one incident of indecent assault at Helensvale.

Police say that between 11:30am and 12:15pm on Thursday, January 6, a boy approached three women aged 41, 67 and 71-years-old in the pedestrian tunnel connecting two shopping complexes beneath the Gold Coast Highway, and exposed himself to the women.

“At 3.30pm on Friday January 7, the boy approached a 16-year-old girl in the same tunnel and committed the same act,” Queensland Police said in a statement.

“Between 12:50pm and 2:00pm on Friday January 14, the boy approached two women aged 47 and 21-years-old in the same tunnel and committed the same act, however in the last instance, the boy grabbed the 21-year-old woman on the buttocks.”

Detectives are now appealing to anyone who may recognise the boy from the depicted clothing shown in the CCTV photos – or, indeed, for any further victims – to come forward.

He is described as Caucasian, possibly aged in his mid-teens, approximately 175cm tall with a proportionate build.
