Police appeal for man missing since December

Victoria Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing 57-year-old man, Anastase (pictured) who is also known as ‘Tass’.

Police say he was last seen in Roseberry Street, Altona Meadows on Wednesday, 8 December last year.

“Police were notified of his disappearance last week by an overseas relative after the relative’s enquiries with Melbourne family and friends failed to locate him,” Victoria Police said in a statement today.

“Family and police are concerned for Anastase’s welfare due to the length of time he has been missing.

“Anastase doesn’t have a current licence and it’s not known which location he may have headed.

“It’s believed Anastase lived a reclusive life with his mother who is unwell and currently in hospital.”

An image of Anastase has been released in the hope someone recognises him and provides information on his current whereabouts.

Anastase is described as having a medium build, is about 175cm tall with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to call Altona Police Station on (03) 9392 3111.
