Pair charged over bobcat theft

Police have arrested a 58-year-old man over the theft of a bobcat from Torrensville overnight.

Police say that just after 11pm last night, officerss were called to Torrens Street, after reports of people loading a bobcat onto a trailer.

The heavy construction vehicle was then hitched to a Holden ute before driving off.

Police located the utility a short time later on South Road at Angle Park with two occupants.

“Further enquiries led patrols to the intersection of North Parade and West Street, Torrensville, where the bobcat was located,” SA Police said in a statement.

The driver, a 58-year-old Campbelltown man was charged with illegal use of a vehicle, drive disqualified, unregistered and uninsured while his passenger, a 25-year-old man from Valley View was charged with illegal use of a vehicle. Both men have been bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on March 9.
