Motorcyclist airlifted after collision with kangaroo

A 60-year-old man was airlifted to hospital yesterday after colliding with a kangaroo while riding a motorbike at Nundle.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to the scene on Nundle Road near Chaffey Dam around 12.30 yesterday afternoon.

“A 60-year-old male sustained head injuries when he collided with a kangaroo,” the Westpac Rescue Helicopter service said in a statement.

“The patient was treated on scene by NSW paramedics and the Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team prior to being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital.”

The man is reported to be in a stable condition in hospital.
