Motorcyclist, 71, seriously injured in Caringbah crash

A 71-year-old motorcycle rider has been seriously injured in a crash in Sydney’s south.

Police say that at around noon today, emergency services were called to Northumberland Road in Caringbah, after reports a white Honda Civic sedan and a black Harley Davidson motorcycle had collided.

“The rider, a 71-year-old man, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to St George Hospital in a serious but stable condition; he has now undergone emergency surgery for leg injuries,” NSW Police said in a statement this afternoon.

The car driver is currently assisting police with their inquiries.

As investigations continue, police urge anyone with witnessed the incident or has dashcam to contact Sutherland Police Area Command or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
